Púca is the mythological Celtic shape shifting horse, with a flowing mane and luminescent golden eyes, who entices humans onto his back for a wild ride. Take a wild musical ride with two of Arizona’s most talented  Celtic musicians who perform as Púca. Púca is the dynamic duo of Dave Firestine and Claire Jamieson Zucker performing the songs and melodies of Ireland and Appalachia, as well as new innovations hot from the press. Dave and Claire take their band name from the Irish mythical beast called a púca. Foot stomping instrumental sets feature the fine musicianship of Dave’s energetic, precise mandolin/bouzouki against the rich heartbeat of Claire’s bodhran or her spunky flatfoot clogging rhythms. Songs, both noble and lusty, hit the heart or the funny bone and will send you off humming and laughing. Modern, Irish, & Old Time Tunes  -  Púca performs them all...Quirky story songs, poignant ballads, & sweet harmonies The pair has produced a total of 7 cds with various bands. Veteran performers, they have also been hired as staff for camps and retreats and have taught numerous workshops at festivals. In 2007, Claire won the Tucson Area Musician’s award (Tammie) for “Best Female Vocalist” and Dave won the “Best String Player”. When they were with band, Round the House, they won the Tammie for best traditional ethnic band six times. Dave is also renowned as the Walnut Valley Music Festival Carp Camp “jam meister” in Winfield Kansas. Both of them also lend their talents to Canadian-U.S. contra dance band, STEAM! When In Arizona, they also enjoy playing reunion gigs with bands Round the House, the Privy Tippers, Scallywag and New Potatoes. © 2012 by Puca All Rights Reserved Web Design by GSI Creative Creative Web Sites for Creative People
